For our first video tutorial, we started with one of our FAVORITE dishes - Fried Okra!

25 pods of okra
1/2c all-purpose flour
1c vegetable oil
Wash okra and pat dry. Slice into 1/4 to 1/2 inch wheels. Discard tops.
Break eggs into bowl and stir. Fold in okra thoroughly coating each piece. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Pour oil into a 12" skillet over medium heat.
On a large plate, combine flour and cornmeal, then add salt and pepper to taste.
Working in batches, transfer okra to cornmeal mixture. Turn to thoroughly coat each piece.
Shake off excess cornmeal mix and transfer okra to a strainer. Continue until all of the okra has been battered.
Once all okra is in the strainer, give it a good shake to remove any excess batter.
Transfer okra to skillet, using care not to overcrowd the pan. Gently stir every few minutes until okra is golden brown (10-15 minutes).
Transfer to bowl or plate lined with paper towels and allow excess oil to drain.
Season with additional salt, pepper, or your favorite Royal Roost Farm seasoning blend!
